Blog 4 My first impressions
What are my first impressions of Blogging?
I have a very positive first impression of blogging as I believe it is an easy and unique way to organise my work and I look forward to creating more blogs in the near future. I also like how I can personalise my blog in order to express my views in a visual format and not just through my writing. I am eager to enhance my blogging skills and become more familiar with the programme "blogger" to present my work in the best and most interesting way.
Blog 3 Who I'm working with, storyboard and shooting script
Who I'm working with who Im working with, storyboard and shooting script
For this task I will be working with James Hollins. The reason I have decided to work in partnership with James is because I believe that we will be able to co-operate well and resolve any disagreements in a professional way. Furthermore, I have had past experience of woking on a similar task to this with him and not only did we work well together, but we were also able to create a successful product which we received a very high mark for. I look forward to working with James in the upcoming weeks in order to create the best product we possibly can.

Blog 2 Techniques
Techniques
Match
on action
Match
on action is an editing technique, which is commonly used to show continuity in
a scene. It is used to show an action sequence from different angles and so
this editing technique often uses more than one camera shot. A simple example
is a man walking up to a safe and reaching for the lock.
Shot
reverse shot
A shot
reverse shot is frequently used in editing to show a conversation between two
characters. One character is shown looking or talking to another character that
is usually off screen. Then the other
character is then shown looking back at the first character.
180
Degree rule
The
180-degree rule is a basic film editing guideline that states that two
characters (or other elements) in the same scene should always have the same
left/right relationship to each other.
Blog 1 Video Preliminary Exercise
Video Preliminary Exercise
This is a continuity task involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom he/she then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue. This task should demonstrate match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180-degree rule. It will help my main task as it will allow me to develop some editing techniques which I might not be too familiar on and will also give me more of an insight into how to use these techniques in a professional and realistic way.
